THE FOLLOWING STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY TO ALL BOOKINGS:

Railtours Ireland First Class (RTIFC) is dedicated to providing a professional and personalised service. We intend to operate all tours as advertised. However, due to operational reasons, it may, on occasion, be necessary to alter certain itineraries. Railtours Ireland cannot be held liable in the event of an attraction being closed.

 

Student discounts and special offer discounts can only be given if requested at the time of booking. No discounts can be given retrospectively.

 

Railtours Ireland First Class cannot be held responsible for customers not having the correct visa documentation to enter Ireland or Northern Ireland.

 

Railtours Ireland First Class reserves the right to cancel tours if industrial or other action affects any of the components which make up our tour or if there is insufficient demand. However, all tours that include accommodation are guaranteed departures (unless under very exceptional circumstances).

 

For any tours that include a flight to the Aran Islands ( Tour - DH11 / DH11AN) the following condition applies: Should weather conditions be such as to curtail flights or ferries, you will be taken on an alternative tour to Connemara and refunded the difference. No further refund available should you decide not to go to Connemara for any reason. Please note that all tours that include a flight to The Aran Islands are subject to availability.

 

Please note that all guests on extended tours (all tours that include accommodation) are taken to and from Inis Mór by ferry.

 

Railtours Ireland First Class cannot be held responsible for any damage, loss, accident, delay, irregularity, injury to person or property whatsoever or howsoever caused arising out of or in connection with excursion, tour or transfer. Passengers travel at their own risk and our liability for any claim whatsoever is limited only to the price of the tour.

 

Free Upgrades are subject to availability and only available to guests who book directly with Railtours Ireland online at www.railtoursireland.com, by phone, or in-person at our Dublin City Centre office.

  • 48hr Dublin City Hop-on-Hop-off Sightseeing Tour ticket.
  • Free Upgrade from a B&B in Killarney to a 4* Standard Hotel, subject to availability in our partner hotels at the time of booking.
  • Breakfast is available on the 7 am train to Cork - Monday to Friday excluding public holidays and is unavailable over the Christmas and New Year period.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • DAY TOURS: 24 hours’ notice before the departure time must be given to get a refund on any day tour.
  • EXTENDED TOURS: 48 hours’ notice before the departure time if the tour includes accommodation (Except for The Emerald Isle Express Tour where 60 days’ notice is required).
  • GROUP TOURS: 60 days notice is required for the cancellation of tours for groups of 10 or more.
  • ALTERATIONS: Once reservations are confirmed by RTIFC, and after a grace period of 72 Hours (3 days), any alterations to the reservation of extended tours (any tours with accommodation) including but not limited to, change of date, tour change, will be subject to a fee of EURO 49.00 per booking.
  • If you miss the train, you miss the tour and are not entitled to any refund for the tour.
  • All refunds are subject to a 10% administration charge.

 

We reserve the right to refuse admission to any tour and to terminate a tour if circumstances demand.

 

COVID19 CANCELLATION POLICY:

As you can appreciate, since the Covid19 outbreak, we have had to suspend all operations, and like most businesses in the Tourism sector, we have little idea when we will recommence our Railtours Ireland First Class Tours.

Due to Government restrictions our offices are closed, we have had to lay-off staff and we only have the bare minimum staff working from home to deal with emails (telephone enquiries cannot be dealt with – at this time).

In order to remain in business after 23 years of delivering excellent tours to hundreds of thousands of customers, we are not in a position to offer refunds as normal. Therefore, until further notice, all customers who have booked with us will receive a full credit or voucher to the value of the tour booked – valid until the end of 2021 ( or longer if necessary ). Vouchers would not be subject to any price increases due to seasonality or other reason. This policy is in accordance with European Union guidelines under the EU Package Travel Regulations.

Unfortunately, this situation is not unique to smaller companies like ourselves. Even the world’s major airlines are also not in a financial position to meet all refund claims and have had to resort to vouchers for postponement of flight plans. The legislation in the European Union as it stands recognises that the cancellation of travel plans in this instance arose from extraordinary circumstances

Of course, when normality returns this policy will be reviewed.

UNUSED TOUR ARRANGEMENTS:

RTIFC cannot make refunds or exchanges for unused accommodation, services, or features of any tour unless agreed before departure.

 

RAIL TICKETS AND VOUCHERS:

All rail tickets and vouchers are issued to guests at check-in at the start of every tour, it is the guests' responsibility to retain all such documentation until the tour ends. Railtours Ireland First Class cannot and will not be responsible for lost rail tickets. Customers may be required to re-purchase tickets in the event of a loss.

 

CLAIMS OR DISPUTES:

RTIFC takes complaints very seriously and we ask if you are not satisfied with any aspect of our service that you submit your complaint in writing no later than 28 days after the end of your tour. involving social media before contacting RTIFC will automatically void any further responsibility on behalf of the company.

For clients staying at B&B’s - When checking into your bed & breakfast, if there are any shortcomings, please bring such matters to the attention of the proprietor immediately, or as soon as possible. Every effort will be made to rectify matters – such issues cannot be rectified at a later date.

 

HOTELS:

All hotels are subject to availability at the time of booking. Please note at times there can be a critical hotel shortage in Dublin, Galway, Killarney, and Belfast, particularly in high season. We may on occasion use hotels just outside the city or town centre, however, we will always inform you before confirming your booking. This can often be the difference between confirming or rejecting your booking on the grounds of availability

 

LUGGAGE :

There is no limit to the amount of luggage and there are luggage facilities onboard trains & coaches and we try to keep luggage transfers between trains and coaches to a minimum. However, it is strongly recommended that large excess amounts of luggage be stored, perhaps, at your Dublin hotel for the duration of your railtour. Please note you are responsible for the care of your luggage at all times.

 

WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY:

As long as the individual has some mobility then our tours would be suitable. The trains are wheelchair friendly in Ireland however the buses/coaches are not. The guest would have to be able to climb the steps on to the bus. It is with regret that we cannot accommodate Mobility Scooters or Electric Wheelchairs on our tours.

 

PRICES & CURRENCY CONVERSION:

All US$ / CAD$ / GP£ prices displayed on our website are per person sharing, are approximate and are subject to fluctuations in exchange rates.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

Online Tour Operators / Tour / Inward Operators guests receive the following concerning overnight tours:

  • Belfast Hotel 4* Standard with Breakfast.
  • Galway 3* Boutique or 4* Standard Hotel with Breakfast.
  • Killarney B&B accommodation with Breakfast.
  • Dublin 3* or 4* Standard Hotel with breakfast.

Accommodations are booked on a per person sharing option and single supplements are charged by accommodation providers which in turn will be applied to bookings. There is a single room supplement of €99 per night for solo travellers.

* The single room supplement for the Emerald Pullman tour amounts to €79 per night.
