Travel from Zone D to Dublin, Ireland
Dublin City Centre Hotel.
Step 1: Travel from your local station to Holyhead
Once your tour has been booked and confirmed by the team in Railtours Ireland First Class, we will send your Rail/Sail ticket to the address provided at checkout. Please ensure that this is correct at the time of booking. Travel times will be listed on your ticket.
Whatever zone from which you are travelling, we will arrange your itinerary so that you will be on the 14:10 sailing of the Irish Ferries ship - The Ulysses - arriving into Dublin Port at 17:25, where you will be greeted by our Railtours Ireland host and transferred to your Dublin City hotel.
Please note: It is very possible to make the 14:10 sailing of the Ulysses ship from Holyhead with plenty of time, having departed from any British rail station that same morning. We will provide a full itinerary for your Rail/Sail journey and issue your tickets prior to your departure.
On the morning of travel, bring your ticket to your local rail station and board your train heading towards Holyhead.
At Holyhead, the ferry terminal for Irish Ferries is inside the station at the end of platform 2. Walk straight off the train into the ferry terminal and check in for the ferry at the relevant ferry operator desk. There's a 30 minute check-in for Irish Ferries.
The Irish Ferries ship berths a short journey from the terminal building at Holyhead. So, after check in passengers are shuttled to the ferry by bus. There is no fee for this shuttle to the ship.
Step 2: Sail across the Irish Sea from Holyhead to Dublin in just over 3 hours
The Irish Ferries ship Ulysses sails from Holyhead at 14:10, arriving Dublin Ferryport at 17:25.
The Ulysses Ship is excellent and sails every day. This ship offers free WiFi, bars, cafes, lounges, a restaurant, cinema, children's play area, fast food outlets, shop & open-air deck.
Step 3: Meet your Railtours Ireland First Class tour host at Dublin Ferry Port for your transfer to your Dublin Hotel
Our Railtours Ireland host will be awaiting your arrival, wearing their bright yellow jacket so that they are easily identifiable. Once you meet your tour host after disembarking, you will be transferred to your hotel for your first evening in Dublin city centre.
You will receive your travel pack with your itinerary for the Irish leg of your journey. Our tour host will furnish you with your travel pack which includes the check-in details for your Irish rail tour.
Please note that there is no transfer from your hotel to the train station for your rail tour through Ireland on the first morning of departure. Please make your way to the departure station for the appropriate check-in time as listed on your itinerary.

Enjoy your Irish Rail Tour
Whether you are taking a 1-day tour to the Cliffs of Moher or an 11-day tour throughout the Emerald Isle, our team will be waiting for you in either Connolly Station or Heuston Station* (depending on which tour you are taking) and they will check you in for your rail tour. The hosts will be wearing bright yellow Railtours Ireland jackets so that they are easily located.
Check in is 20 minutes prior to the train departure time. In Connolly Station, Check in is located on the right-hand side of the main concourse area. In Heuston Station, check in is located beside the Customer Serivce Desk.
You will receive your travel pack with rail tickets, itinerary and all the details for your tour around Ireland.
The length and duration of your rail tour will determine when and at what time you arrive back to Dublin once your tour is finished. Upon arrival back to Dublin Connolly or Dublin Heuston Stations, please make your own way to your Dublin hotel where you will have a second night in a 3*/4* hotel.

Return Journey via Holyhead
Step 1: Transfer from Dublin Hotel to Dublin Ferry Port
You will be collected from you Dublin Hotel and transferred by our Railtours Ireland host to Dublin Ferry Port, where you will board the ship to return home.
Our Railtours Ireland team will have you at Dublin Ferry Port with ample time to check in.
We will provide you with details of your transfer time and all other pertinent information prior to your day of travel.
Step 2: Sail from Dublin to Holyhead
You will be booked onto the 08:05 sailing of the Irish Ferries ship Ulysses, arriving into Holyhead at 11:30. From there, you will take your connecting train. At Holyhead, a free shuttle bus transfers you to the ferry passenger terminal at the station.
Step 3: Travel from Holyhead to your local rail station by train
Mondays-Fridays, you leave Holyhead at 12:53 on a direct train to London Euston arriving at 16:37.
Depending on where you wish to end up, you may have to change trains. We will provide you with all the details after we receive your booking.
Saturdays, you leave Holyhead at 12:38, change in Chester (arrive 14:14, depart 14:35) and arrive London Euston at 16:36.

Sundays, you leave Holyhead at 12:50 on a direct train to London, arriving London Euston at 16:41.
